Silversmithing & Metalwork Programme introduces pupils to the foundations of jewellery design, guiding them through the full process of transforming raw metal into a finished, wearable piece. This is a practical, confidence‑building course where students learn real industry techniques in a safe, structured environment.

What Pupils Will Learn:

• Jewellery design basics — sketching, planning, and understanding metal properties
• Sawing skills — precise cutting using professional jeweller’s saws
• Soldering techniques — clean, secure joins using heat and solder
• Metal texturing — hammers, stamps, punches, and surface finishes
• Forming & shaping — doming, bending, and refining metal
• Project development — taking a design from concept to completion

Create a Final Piece of Jewellery:

Each pupil will design and make their own final piece in copper or brass, learning how to cut, solder, shape, and texture their chosen metal.

For those who want to take their project further, there is an optional upgrade to sterling silver for a small additional fee.

Families can choose either the £120 full payment or a two‑part instalment plan of £70 at the start and £70 halfway through the programme.
The instalment plan is slightly more expensive overall, as it includes all tools, materials, and metals required for the course, along with the additional administration involved in split payments.
